UzObi Opens Founding Partner Search for Sanctuary, Its Advance Care Planning Platform

The company is inviting a small group of physician practices to help build and pilot the platform, at no cost, keeping 100% of the advance care planning revenue they bill

PRIOR LAKE, Minn., October 22, 2026 — UzObi, Inc. today announced an open call for founding building partners for Sanctuary, its advance care planning platform. UzObi is selecting a small group of physician practices, in primary care and in pulmonary and critical care medicine, to help shape the platform in a live pilot beginning the week of November 30, 2026.

Sanctuary exists because of a simple failure. About a third of American adults have any advance directive, and in most practices the goals-of-care conversations that Medicare pays for under CPT codes 99497 and 99498 rarely happen, and more rarely get documented and billed. An estimated 63 million Americans provide unpaid care to family members, often without ever being told what their person actually wanted.

"Healthcare has your chart. It should have your voice," said Dr. Nneka Sederstrom, co-founder of UzObi and a clinical ethicist. "Sanctuary was built so a patient's own words reach the people who will speak for them, and so the physician who knows that patient leads the conversation. We are not looking for customers right now. We are looking for partners who want to build this with us and get it right."

Under the founding partner pilot, participating practices receive Sanctuary at no cost for 90 days. Physicians hold the advance care planning conversations inside the physician-patient relationship. Sanctuary supports patient preparation, documentation, and time capture, and the practice bills and keeps 100% of the advance care planning revenue. Founding partners receive direct access to the UzObi clinical and product team, input into the platform roadmap, and preferred terms when the pilot converts to a paid subscription.

UzObi is candid about the platform's stage. Sanctuary is in live beta with a closed group today. It is not yet certified, and no electronic health record integration is built. The founding partner pilot is how those gaps close: with practicing physicians, on real workflows, before scale.
